Yes indeed...giving our often sordid past, it seemed fitting that the first thread on the Events board be about Carlisle 2010. The dates are May 21 - 23, 2010. Full details are here: www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/import/If you take the drive, you will probably run into yours truly (yes I keep going and going) and a bunch of NJRCers who hang with the SOC, Speedster Owners Club. Max & Toni, Al & Kim, and Rocky & Linda are often found wandering the Carlisle Productions grounds in mid-May. Al, I leave it to you to fill in the sordid details of the SOC if you wish. If you missed Carlisle 2009, this is a taste of what you missed: Yeah, there were cars there too. But who needs pcitures of more cars? And a PS: Yes, the astonishingly good looking bald guy behind the wheel of that awesome Speedster on the Carlisle Import/Kit Car web page is me. A photographer happened to be around when Cory Drake, the owner of the little beast (it's barely street legal) let me take her for a ride. Almost made me want to sell the TD and build a Speedster!

Given the French connection through the Citroen Club, I prefer to blame Michel. Their service has actually improved a bit.

Is carlisle something that can be seen in a day... or does it take all three to really experience it?

Hi Steve,
You can handle the Import/Kit Car show and flea market in one day.

Thanks Paul,
Is there a day I should shoot for? Any sort of exhibitions or events that are only on one day or something?

Hi Steve, Saturday is the prime day. The car show field may be a bit light on Friday & Sunday. And sometimes on Sunday, the flea market starts to thin out. Vendors are supposed to stay 'til the bitter end. Sometimes they don't. The biggest thing you would miss is the free car giveaway, held on Sunday at 3:00. Each car show entrant and paid spectator admission receives free raffle tickets to the car giveaway. But you MUST be present to win. Their are seminars, autocross events and other activities all through the weekend. I cannot find a schedule for the 2010 show on Carlisle Productions' web site. But here is a link to last year's show program. The activities are on page two and will give you a rough idea what the weekend is like. www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/pdf/2009_ImportDirectory.pdfAnyway, bottom line is I still recommend that Saturday is still the day to be there if you can only do one day.

The speedster group's block of rooms at Hotel Carlisle are all but gone, each year we get more participation and we expected to come up short on rooms even with 35 rooms in the block. We get speedster owners driving in from as far as Iowa, Fla. Arkansas, Canada etc.
I can suggest that you inquire at the Ramada Ltd.
BTW see my other post re:
Memorial Motor Madness Car Show in Hackettstown NJ ..
A lot closer (except for me) for a NJRC get together ! ~Alan

If you've got a free day Saturday, take your car for a drive and join Al & Kim, Max & Toni, Rocky & Linda and Paul in Carlisle PA.
See you down the road!
